Who is Ebico?

Since it was set up in 1998, Ebico has had one mission: to fight fuel poverty. As the UK’s first not-for-profit energy company, Ebico does everything it can to ensure affordable access to warm and lit homes across Britain.

Ebico does that by providing reasonably priced plans for customers who find their home energy costs are a major household expenditure and end up having to either reduce their energy use or use a prepayment meter. The company supports credit, prepayment and Economy 7 meters.

Ebico has simple, unique tariffs and offers eight energy plans. Its most successful tariff – Ebico Zero – has a one-unit rate, no exit fees and no standing charge, plus you only pay for what you use.

It supplies customers with green energy sourced either directly from generators or through a wholesale energy provider with established links with green generators.

Is Ebico a good energy supplier?

Ebico has been awarded Ethical Consumer’s Best Buy label after achieving top-marks in the magazine’s annual rating.

In the Which? energy supplier satisfaction survey, Ebico came in joint fourth place with 76%. It scored five stars out of five in the online customer service and value for money categories, and four out of five for its bill accuracy and clarity and phone customer service.

The company has a 7.8 out of 10 rating on Trustpilot.

Ebico’s supply partner, Robin Hood Energy, sources electricity exclusively from UK-based wind and solar generation.

How much can I save with Ebico?

Ebico has a long-standing reputation for being competitive on price. It structures its pricing so as not to penalise low-income households and is committed to providing attractively-priced plans to customers who need them the most.
